Oret Triblen, academic and outspoken Taris Destruction skeptic, was found dead in his home yesterday morning. Sources close to the investigation list blasterfire as the cause of death. Investigators are treating the case as a homicide.
Triblen’s body was found in his home yesterday morning by his housekeeper, who described the scene as “execution style”. None of Triblen’s possessions were found to be missing, and investigators believe the slaying to be related to Triblen’s outspoken stance on several issues.
Triblen was known in academic circles as a staunch skeptic of the Taris Destruction incident. Though it took place over 300 standard years ago, it is often cited as a prime example of Sith extremism and a criticism of the “ends justify the means” approach.
Triblen had published several books on the subject, claiming that the destruction of the planet was either staged by Jedi rather than Sith, or fabricated entirely. Though his views caused him to be censored in many academies, Triblen was still able to share his views through public speaking engagements and book tours. His views often earned him ire from other academics, and Triblen reported receiving several death threats over the years.
Though dismissed by mainstream academia, Triblen’s works have inspired a small following. The groups claim that Triblen was silenced for speaking his mind.
“They just don’t want the truth to be out,” says Broc Kenor, a native of Tepasi. “[Triblen] made them see their culpability, and they killed him for it.”
Others take a different approach to the slaying.
“Extremists draw other extremists,” says Kanet Ericton, a grad student at the University of Garos on Garos IV. “It’s unfortunate what happened, but not really a surprise.”
Investigators denied comment on the issue.

Just because some people seem to think its okay to ignore the past and maybe it will go away doesn’t make it right or smart to do it. Sooner or later it will come and bite them on the shebs. History has a way of makings its own points no matter the morons who deny it say.
Of course the guys with blasters who get annoyed at the idiots also have a few points to make as well…
